Amongst a few gigs this week.
Last night played with Josten Myburgh’s Breaking Waves at St. Paul’s church. Josten has been all over Europe writing great music, performing and generally having a great time. He brought back a very nice composition “no river” that was premiered. It’s always extremely challenging and highly rewarding to play JJ Myburgh’s music.
Tonight WAMaward nominated orphans are playing at 459, supporting Bat Country for their comeback show!! Come down for good music and grab and orphans CD while your at it (RTRFM Local Feature a few weeks ago).
Then Sunday night, start or finished your week with improvised music at Outline #3. Improvising musicians of Perth in new combinations. I’m playing with the Tone List crew.
Nice little review of my solo work, IN/EX, from ATTN:Magazine.
Success Sounds is a very cool series run by Lyndon Blue, within the Success Gallery, Fremantle. At Success Sounds #3 Djuna Lee, Lenny Jacobs and I played this set with footage of Tokyo to set the scene.
Way back in June I had a session with Aviva Endean, Sage Pbbbt and Josten Myburgh. Here is a take from that session, for you to enjoy.

I’m really looking forward to playing with Dom Barrett and Behn Greene this Thursday, as orphans, at the launch of our debut album ‘the consequence of following‘, out on Tone List. We have some great support for the night. Indi Coole, Djuna Lee, Alana Macpherson, Pedro Alvarez and Tourist Kid all contributing.
I recently answered some question from Stephanie Eslake at CutCommon about the orphans album and my solo work, IN/EX. Have a read to get some context before the gig, Thursday.
Taking a breath with Dan O’Connor
